Grant Description
Grants of up to $2,500 to Arizona nonprofit organizations and government entities in eligible counties for organizational development. Funding is intended to assist organizations with capacity building. Eligible organizations are those that promote health and wellness. Applicants must serve Cochise and Eastern Santa Cruz Counties.

Fast Pitch is an organizational development grant that supports an organization’s ability to function effectively and efficiently. Fast Pitch focuses on the inner workings of an organization, rather than programs and services.

Activities may include:

  • Conference or seminar attendance
  • Consultants or professional speakers
  • Specialized staff training/certification
  • Professional development: coaching, leadership training, board development
  • Focused education on organizational development such as: strategic planning, fund or program development, needs assessment, and information management
  • Software support such as volunteer scheduling or grant management software, database management such as Excel or Access, or other software pertinent to the development of the organization
  • Technology support such as a new computer, printer, or copier, used to enhance the development of the organization

Scope and Characteristics: 

  • Grant addresses the internal workings and effectiveness of a nonprofit organization rather than programs
  • One-time organizational development grant that will make a positive impact on the way the organization works


Additional Eligibility Criteria
• Any Arizona 501(c)(3) organization, and certain government entities having a clear and evident relation to promoting population health and community wellness in Southeast Arizona.
• Organizations must demonstrate a non-discrimination policy regarding staff, employment, governing board, and volunteers based on race, color, religion, sex, age, disability, veteran status, national origin, or other characteristic protected by law. If requested, organizations must provide evidence of the policy.
• All other Legacy Foundation of Southeast Arizona general grant requirements apply.

- Application Available: January 22, 2024
- Application Closes: February 2, 2024 at 4:30 PM
- Participants Selected/Notified by February 9, 2024
- Fast Pitch presentation will be on February 21, 2024
- You will be contacted within 8-10 weeks to notify you if your organization has been selected for funding or not.

- One Fast Pitch grant per nonprofit organization
- You may apply for a Fast Pitch grant if you are also concurrently applying for Strategic funds.

Term of Contract
Organizations must demonstrate readiness and a solid plan to use the grant within twelve months of the grant award.
