Grant Description
Award of $2,500 to a USA, Canada, or International individual to recognize contributions to the field of mental health. Eligible recipients are psychologists within the first ten years of their postdoctoral degree. This award is intended to recognize efforts to advocate for, inform, and improve the mental health and well-being of families and children, particularly through policy.

Nominees will be evaluated on the magnitude of professional accomplishment in advancing public understanding of mental health and improvement of the well-being of children and families through policy and service.

Additional Eligibility Criteria
Nominees must be psychologists with an EdD, PsyD, or PhD from accredited universities no more than 10 years postdoctoral.

Self-nominations are permitted.

APF Trustees must wait one year after their term of service before they can be considered for a grant or an award.

APF encourages applicants from diverse backgrounds with respect to age, race, color, religion, creed, nationality, ability, sexual orientation, gender, and geography.

International applicants from countries that have diplomatic relations with the United States and who meet the other eligibility requirements may apply for APF funding.

APF does not allow institutional indirect/administrative/overhead costs and/or fees to be taken out of grant monies. The entire grant must be provided to the individual grantee for the stated purpose.
