Grant Description
Fellowships to USA, Canada, and International graduate students to participate in sustainability and clean energy projects. The purpose of the program is to help fellows make a positive impact on climate and smart energy solutions. Fellowships will take place over the course of 10-12 weeks.
In 2023, fellowships were a mix of remote, hybrid, and on-site arrangements. During the matching process, candidates will be made aware of each project’s location (remote vs. on-site) and can indicate their preferences accordingly.

Pre-Proposal Conference
Register for a virtual alumni panel and breakout room session taking place on November 9, 2023, to hear from 2023 fellows from about their experiences: https://edf.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZYkcO-rpj4pGdBV8CiQRk9nDSQ2MfTZQggB

Attend office hours with Climate Corps staff. Applicants are encouraged to register in advance, if possible: https://calendly.com/hleonard-1/climate-corps-group-office-hours

Pre-Application Information
Submit an application by 11/30/23 at 11:59pm PST (early deadline) or 1/9/24 at 11:59pm PST (regular deadline). Individuals who submit an application prior to the November deadline will have the opportunity to choose from a more robust list of host organizations.

If your application is successful, you will participate an interview via Zoom where your qualifications will be evaluated. These interviews are compared to the needs of host organizations to determine appropriate matches. Applicants who apply by the first deadline typically participate in this interview between January and mid-February. Those who apply by the second deadline can expect an interview between mid-February and March.

Following a successful interview, you will become eligible to be matched with a project. While you cannot apply for a specific host organization, after your interviews EDF will provide an up-to-date list of participating organizations and projects. You will be able to indicate the projects you are most interested in.

Matches with host organizations occur in two waves: mid-February for early applicants and mid-March for regular applicants. Candidates who advance to the matching round will receive notice of a more specific timeline. If you receive a match, you are given two weeks to accept.
