Grant Description
Awards of up to $1,000 to USA K-12 teachers in their first five years of teaching with funds to attend a science education conference. Awardees will also receive mentorship and opportunities for involvement within the science education community. This award honors those teachers who are NSTA members and have made extraordinary contributions to the field of science teaching. Priority will be given to applications from NSTA Student Chapters that have been in existence and active for at least two years.

Additional Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible, a teacher must have taught less than five years full-time at the time of application and be an NSTA member in good standing. To the extent possible, recipients must have been a student member of NSTA as a preservice teacher.

Completed applications must be received by December 21, 2023.

Please be advised that you may apply for more than one award; however, you are eligible to win only one NSTA award per year. Each application must be based on a unique program and process.

Estimated Size of Grant
The award consists of up to $1,000 to be used to attend the annual National Conference. Recipients will be invited to attend a variety of workshops and presentations that are of particular interest to new teachers at the annual National Conference.
