Grants to Arizona nonprofits, Tribal and government agencies, schools, and faith-based organizations that provide services to individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing. Funding is intended for scientific research, capacity building, project support, and feasibility planning for capital projects.

The Foundation will consider proposals in any of the above four funding categories that address one or more of the following focus areas:

  • Critical Issues
  • Cochlear Implants
  • Sign Language
  • Quality of Life

Proposals should be based on the following grant categories:

  • Projects Support
  • Capacity Building
  • Scientific Research in the areas of Deafness and Hearing Loss
  • Feasibility Planning for Capital Projects

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Eligible applicants:
- Grants are made to 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations, schools, faith-based organizations, Tribal entities and occasionally to government agencies. Grants are made statewide.
- Any Arizona 501(c)(3) organization, government agency* (i.e., school**, municipality), and tribal entity that operates with fiscal accountability and responsibility is eligible to apply. Religious organizations may apply for funding of non-sectarian programs.
- Organizations must demonstrate a non-discrimination policy regarding staff, employment, governing board and service delivery based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, disability or national origin, and provide evidence of the policy.
- Organizations are required to have a completed and visible profile on ACF’s website. Incomplete organizational profiles will result in the immediate declination of your application.
- Organizations without 501(c)(3) status must use a fiscal agent to apply on their behalf. Fiscal agents must have a visible profile on the ACF website, and also be a 501(c)(3) organization.
- Organizations must be in good standing with the IRS at the time of review or else the submitted application(s) will be immediately declined.

Pre-Application Information:

- Grant cycle opens December 16, 2019
- Applications are due on January 17, 2020, at 5:00 PM
- Grant review committee will make final recommendations in March 2020.
- Grant awards and decline letters our by March 30, 2020
- If funded, 2019 Final Report Due in march 2021.
