Grants of up to $30,000 to Arizona nonprofit organizations to improve the health of local communities. Funding is intended for new, collaborative programs that involve two or more organizations. Support is given to programs that address the systemic causes of health inequity. Proposed projects should utilize a health equity lens to address two or more Elements of a Healthy Community to dream up a solution that is more effective, equitable, or sustainable than existing approaches.

  • Environmental quality
  • Food access
  • Healthy community design
  • Parks and recreational opportunities
  • Social and cultural cohesion

Proposals will be assessed based upon clear and concise responses.

  • What is the readiness and capacity of the partnership? 
  • How is the project approaching the work through an equity lens?
  • How will the project make a significant, sustainable difference in the future?
  • How does the project address the intersection of two or more elements of a healthy community?

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

- Arizona-based organizations with a tax-exempt status who are serving Arizonans (fiscal sponsors are okay; this generally includes nonprofits, government, faith-based, etc.)
- 1 Spark grant submission per organization
- Two or more organizations/groups working collaboratively as partners
- Not a continuation of an existing program
- Applicants cannot be a current Innovation Grant awardee, though previous awardees or partners are okay to apply
