Grants to Arizona nonprofit organizations for programs that benefit military veterans and their families. Funding is intended to support projects and events in areas that include, but are not limited to, employment, health and mental health, women and minority issues, and homelessness.

The Arizona Veterans' Donation Fund, established in 1999 by the Arizona legislature, funds programs that benefit veterans and their families throughout Arizona. Funding can only be used to benefit veterans in the State of Arizona through small grants and large grants, each with their own documented application process.

Estimated Size of Grant:

VDF Small Grant: $4,999.99 or less
VDF Large Grant: $5,000 - $75,000

A limit of $50,000 is awarded in Small Grants each quarter.

Total VDF Money available for the Large Grant solicitation is $600,000.

Term of Contract:

The term of the Contract shall commence upon signature of Award of Grant and shall continue for one (1) year, unless sooner terminated.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Grantee must be a 501(c) charitable organization.

Preferable to ADVS, Grantee has a primary mission of providing benefits to Arizona’s veterans and applicant supports.

Pre-proposal Conference:

A Preapplication Conference will be scheduled at least 21 days before the VDF Large Grant submission date to explain the grant application requirements. The exact time and date for the Preapplication Conference will be posted with the grant solicitation.

Pre-Application Information:

VDF Grants of $4,999.99 or less (Small Grant):
The VDF Small Grant Cycle is open with applications being accepted July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2022, with a limit of $50,000 awarded in Small Grants each quarter.. Small Grant Proposals are accepted throughout the year, dependent on availability of funding. Notification of the Department’s decision will be made within 30 days upon receipt of the completed proposal.

VDF Grants of $5,000 - $75,000 (Large Grant)
The VDF Large Grant will open the third Friday in October of each year beginning at 3:00 pm through the third Friday in December of each year ending at 5:00 pm. The VDF Large Grant cycle is open October 15, 2021 beginning at 3:00pm through Friday, December 17 ending at 5:00pm. Notification of the Department’s decision will be made within 45 to 60 calendar days of the required submittal date.

All Large Grant Proposals must be submitted through eCivis, a cloud-based grants management system.

VDF proposals submitted and accepted accordingly will be reviewed and considered according to the VDF grant process and grant requirements under A.R.S. § 41-2702.

No proposal for $5,000.00 or more shall be divided into separate proposals for less than $4,999.99 to bypass solicitation requirements.
